I have to say I agree. Leino will have to prove why he was brought here. If he wants to keep his contract and play here, he may use that to fuel his fire. I hope it pans out for us here in Sabreland.
I think we all know he has the ability to be great. Just needs the chance (and health). |

If Leino has your projected 45-50 points do you think that is worth $4.5 million? - Pierceme69

If we are depending on Leino to score, we have bigger problems then I thought. |

Leino is a very good supporting player. But when you try to place too much pressure on him, he struggles. I said multiple times when he was a Flyer that he was the best player in the league at pulling off 80% of a great play and turning the puck over in the end. When he keeps his game simple and doesn't try to be Pavel Datsyuk, he's very effective as a 2nd line winger. |

I think the biggest issue with Leino isn't that he has been a bust but he has done so wearing 23 |

I am more than happy to give Leino a shot after his brief, but productive, performance last season. If he can put up around 60 points, I'll be satisfied.
Also, I'm new here. Any survival tips? |

60 points would be a dream. I am hoping he can pull 60 points, but I don't know who he would play with. I guess until Darcy states that he will not move Vanek or Miller, we will have no idea who plays were. |

His 6 points in 8 games put him on track for about 60 points, so as long as he stays healthy, he might just surprise us. I'm pulling for the Ott-Grigo-Leino line that I saw at the last training camp |

I'm not sure about goals, but when he came back he definitely found his stride. 6 points in 8 games shows promise. Is it worth what we're paying for him? That remains to be same. But he definitely came back with a fire under his a$$ last year. I'm not ready to call him a bust, but I also don't agree with dropping Gerbe. Gerbe brought heart to a team that most of last season had none. |

Serious note here
Leino performed descent in Philly because he was on the second team PP
this is something Ruff never understood
you put players on the pp when you expect them to produce 50 or more points in a full season |

Most teams run their best PK line first. or so it seems. |

Kevin Freiheit: Making a statement - KevinJames
I am on record the minute he was signed saying it was a poor decision. It's also the 2nd thing after Myers contract I wish someone would have mentioned with the famous "What's Darcy done wrong" comment. It was bad asset management, and don't put his moving to center on Ruff - they were talking him as a center the day he got signed. |

Actually if you did some research you would know it only costs the sabres a little over a million dollars maybe 1.5 to let him play this year as apposed to buying him out and then buying him out next year. |

I think Leino needs to play with more talented players. Not saying the Sabres are not talented. Just saying he needs to play with high end talent. I think you would see a similar Leino to the one from the Flyers if he played with Vanek. He played with Briere during the Finals run in 2010. Briere probably would have won the Conn Smythe if the Flyers won the cup. When Leino was on the third line he struggled for points.
He can be lethal when grouped with the right players. He is great puck possession guy. He is also pretty clutch in the playoffs. |

What is this madness!!!???
A well written, punctuated, and spell-checked article with a solid, well-talked about need for player to show up which highlighted what he could do if healthy..
This is NON-SENSE!!!
quick.. someone write an article that doesn't even pertain to the sabres with a horrible cliche title. |
